It’s been a big year for us all at Connected Event Group – transitioning from AV 27/7 to our new companies focussed on delivering virtual and hybrid events.
It was a brave move by our owners, Libbie Ray and Juston Prisuda – not only did it help lots of companies and associations get on with connecting with their clients and communities – it also kept the doors open and staff employed.
And it was the staff that nominated them both to the industry peak body, the Exhibition and Event Association of Australia’s for the annual Unsung Hero Award.
A big congratulations to our owners, Libbie and Juston and all the finalists in the 2020 EEAA Unsung Hero Award. The award ceremony will be held at ICC Sydney next Tuesday, 8 December.
The finalists are: Jenna Cali, Operations Manager – Informa Australia; Kym De Britt, Chief Executive Officer – Australian Dental Industry Association; Helen Mantellato, Business Development Manager: International and Exhibition – International Convention Centre Sydney; Libbie Ray and Juston Prisuda, Directors – Connected Event Group (joint nomination) and Nicole Walker, Chief Executive Officer – Arinex.
Our company is hugely invested in supporting the careers of young people and helping Skills IQ and TAFE NSW with improving the course content for those studying AV and event management.
We were really honoured to be invited to develop a skilling-up session for teachers in three different disciplines at TAFE NSW.
The subject was right up our alley: “Skilling for hybrid and virtual events”. Around 60 teachers from around the state took part in the training session.
